BLAQ DEE BA TIME

A compilation of Northern Nigerian HipHop tagged BA TIME, without being overtly reverential towards older conventions, this is a collection that draws on – and adds to – the genre’s new wave.

The first to make a complete Hausa rap album was Abdullahi Mighty, a musician from the city of Kano in northern Nigeria, known as a hub of music, then It started a revolution in Hausa sound.

The likes of Morell, Classiq came up with different dimension. BOC Madaki , DJ Ab and Kheenqs blended in well with skills and Hard work.

Mighty had created a work that bridged modern rap music imported from the United States and nanaye, Hausa music popular in northern Nigeria that was – and still is – a dominant trend in the region.

Fast forward, the likes of Classiq Buba, Morell, Dj AB, BOC Madaki, Kheengs, Lyrical Dr Smith, Blaq Dee and many more are really making the evolution with modernized hip-hop trend. (Trap & Afro).
