PRESS CONFERENCE ON GENDER DIGITAL INCLUSION AGENDA CAMPAIGN ORGANIZED BY CITAD AT BAUCHI.
CITAD in collaboration with IKRA FOUNDATION FOR WOMEN AND YOUTH DEVELOPMENT (IFWYD) organized one day training on the need for Gender Digital inclusive internet to help close the digital divide gap at Bauchi state, Nigeria.
According to one of the speakers, Maryam Bala as qouted
“this is not only a press conference for a balance but to encourage women to participate in internet governance and take up careers on the internet such as but not limited to programming, web development, project management and many more”
The press conference took place today, 25th of May 2019 at IKRA FOUNDATION FOR WOMEN AND YOUTH DEVELOPMENT (IFWYD) Youth Centre, after Isa Yuguda House, Close to Daurawan Dillalai, Bauchi at 3:00Pm
About 15 participants were in attendance at the press conference from different government parastatals, NGOs and media houses ; State ministry of works & social welfare, CSO, Child is Gold Foundation, Child Education and Crime Eradication initiatives, Prison inmate Development Initiatives(PIDI), Leadership news paper, Globe Fm, Blue print Newspaper, NUJ and www.beehivegossips.com.ng blog.
4 speakers had presentations as follows;
- Mrs. Chioma – A woman Tech and lecturer spoke on Internet safety.
- Amina Garba – Founder of IFWYD spoke on Gender Based violence and feminism.
- Maryam Bala –CITAD representative spoke on understanding Digital Rights.
- Maryam Garba – CITAD representative spoke on CITAD model for Digital Inclusion.
The presentation of certificates to 15 trainees was successfully done.
