GROWING UP AS A KID, HOW WAS IT LIKE TO YOU?

Growing up as a kid wasn’t an easy one for me, i Lost my dad at a very early stage of my life. Age 2 to be precise.

Lawrence Agi

It was hard growing up without a father. I could remember those days in school after closing hours, i would see parents coming to pick their children which some are my colleagues in the class and i’ll watch them (colleagues) running into the arms of their parents to feel their warm embrace. That really got to me and made me emotional alot.

But then I can confidently tell u am blessed with a wonderful woman as a mother (my supermom) who supported me in every way and awonderful family and am grateful to God.

WHAT IS YOUR EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND ?

I Studied Mass Communication at Federal Polytechnic Bauchi before acquiring a Degree certificate on TV Production at NTA TV College Jos.

Lawrence Agi
I Had my primary and secondary education in Benue state at Holy child model nursery and primary school and St. Francis college Otukpo respectively which are both missionary schools with blessed teachers and sound educational status.

Then, i received my diploma certificate in mass communication at the federal polytechnic Bauchi before furthering my degree course in television production at the prestigious NTA television college Jos.

CHALLENGES SO FAR ?

The journey so far as a model hasn’t been an easy one, Especially in the industry where there is alot of compromises and competition, people doing the impossible and negative to stay at the top or get to the top.

Lawrence Agi
First and foremost to show that what you are doing is genuine you must experience challenges and obstacles. And when you go true this stuff you bear in mind that there is no giving up because I believe that great storms produce great sailors.

Nevertheless, The journey so far as a model hasn’t been an easy one, Especially in the industry where there is alot of compromises and competition, people doing the impossible and negative to stay at the top or get to the top. Also, when you have to work hard, encourage yourself, believe in yourself first before anyone else, and being disciplined at all time, Meeting new people and dealing with different behaviors ,Traveling (job trip) and working on yourself everyday to meet the demands and standard of the industry so that at the end of the day you’re indispensable and always aprefered choice.

But believe me when I say it has been an interesting one altogether, inspite of the little little challenges one faces everyday. But believe me when I say God has been gracious and faithful to me always in my own case.

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT MODELLING IN THE NORTH?

Modeling in the north is quite challenging especially when the culture of people in the north keep starring at you in the face.

Lawrence Agi
Modeling in the north is quite challenging especially when the culture of people in the north keep starring at you in the face.

Not withstanding, as professionals we think outside the box or come up with styles that suits the environment (North) the culture and believes of the northern people other places like the south, east and western part of the country don’t place too much attention on what you wear or showcase even when your whole body is not covered.

Am not preaching nude by the way and Am not saying they don’t have their own culture and norms, ofcourse they do but it’s not as pronounce as it is in the north. Because the northern people believe that an individual is supposed to be well covered, not showing any part of the body apart from the face (smile)

But not withstanding we are professionals and we know how to place things to suit the environment we find ourselves ofcourse there are alot of perspective to view this from but just decided to focus on the cultural beliefs in the north.
